If you knew, would you stop?
There's a boy in my class called Luke. He has a hard life...
Luke's mum and dad have split, his step father has mental problems, and he got taken away from his mother once while she went to prison when he was only 5 years of age. On top of all that, everyone in my school, even my teacher, Mrs.walker bullies him. Sometimes he fights back,
sometimes he cries. But to know that he has such a hard life makes my head hurt with depression. I tried to help him once, to be nice and make him a little bit happier, but it didnt work out just as I had planned. First of all, he didn't seem to notice. But after a while, he did, and because he had given up hope so very much, (that's what I think anyway) he told me to go away. He's so sad.
Anyway, people have started to notice that I'm trying to be nice to him, so I stopped. It was no use anyway, he refused to be happy. But for the
period of time of which I had tried to make his slightest bit more pleasant my popularity status went down.
Even now, because my mum and his mum are friends, and because my sister and his sister are friends, my mother and I sometimes walk to and/or from
school together. Since he refused my help I have taken a slight dislike to him, so I walk ahead or behind my mother and him.
When others see me walking with him from my school my popularity would go down even more. I know I should'nt care about popularity, but if your not popular at school, school-life becomes even worse than it is already is.
I just want you to think about what you would do if you had or now currently would go to my school. Would you join in, or make a difference?
There's no trick, no answer, it's all up to you.
