ADHD is a Misdiagnosis
By Ina Woolcott
ADHD, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is claimed to be a developmental disorder. Just 2 decades ago, this ‘disorder’ was unknown. Apparently today around 5% of kids ‘suffer’ with the ‘disease’. Whatever brings this disorder on, ADHD has reached new heights - but it seems that schools, rather than doctors, may be the main culprits of diagnosing kids.
It is official - there is no cure for ADHD, however kids once diagnosed are drugged up to the eye balls on all kinds of psychotropic drugs such as Ritalin, Strattera, Concerta, Adderall, Methylphenidate, to make them ‘calm and quiet’ and so they are better able to ‘pay attention’.
Street drugs are labelled illegal, people even go to prison for smoking cannabis. Yet it is fine to be pushing mind changing drugs at millions of children. The side effects of these prescribed drugs (that is all they are - DRUGS) are dreadful. Often suicide and violence are linked to their use.
Kids in school are diagnosed with this apparent ‘disorder’ because they
* Don’t pay close enough attention to details
* Make mistakes in their schoolwork
* Don’t listen well or follow instructions
* Are unwilling
* Are easily distracted or ‘forgetful’
* Don’t like sitting still and are fidgety
* Are unable to play ‘quietly’
* Talk way too much
To put it another way - THESE KIDS ARE A NUISANCE TO TEACHERS!!! Does this take you back to your time at school? These are no signs of illness. It is not natural for kids to be sitting still so long. They are full of energy, and are designed to be running about, and to act like, well, kids. In school they have to sit still for endless hours, have to ask permission to go for a pee. When kids go to school it is like sending them to prison camp. Most parents think they are doing the right thing sending their beloved children to school. Some are glad to get rid of them most of the day. The educational system is in an extremely poor state and kids are being brainwashed with useless knowledge. They are being made into sheep, robots. I’m sure a lot of kids don’t understand, especially the younger ones, why their parents suddenly offload them into government training camps. They probably feel lost, abandoned and maybe hurt. One day they are with the ones they love, the next they spend all day at school, come home, play or watch TV, have dinner and go to bed. They miss out on quality family time. This is obviously not all families, but the majority of them.
The bright children are the ones who are rebelling against the system. They want to get into the real world and learn something real. To do something useful and be part of society. What schools offer bores them. They CANNOT BE BLAMED for their absolutely natural behaviour.
In the countries that allow it, home schooling is a great alternative. What is needed is a rehashing of the entire education system to encourage and support creativity, fun, enjoyment, critical thinking, and the ability to make decisions and evaluate data. Nothing beats learning
something you actually WANT to learn.
